Christmas Time

Is there any better time of the year? People are genuinely kind to one another, they buy each other thoughtful gifts, and they spend joyous time together. It's beautiful really. Personally, it's not my favorite time of the year, but it's certainly top three. For the last few years Christmas has ranked in right behind the season premiere of LOST for me. Why? Well, because LOST season brings me multiple months of joy and happiness while Christmas only brings me a one month max of joyfulness. Now I'm getting off topic, sorry.

Back to the point: Christmas is wonderful. The movies, the music, the food, the cookies, the forced family time, I love all of it. I love how completely stressed out my mom gets over making everything perfect, even though it turns out great every year and no one is actually judging the outcome. I love having a dog that is allergic to pine trees and can't stop sneezing while the tree is in the house. I love watching A Christmas Story repeatedly. I love eating homemade cinnamon rolls Christmas morning. I love getting gifts. I love giving gifts. I love wrapping gifts. I love sugar cookies. I love hanging out with my family and making fun of the youngest one (Rock) just for being young. I love drinking an inappropriate amount of wine at dinner. I love eating too much food and then doing it again the very next night (I don't believe in learning from my mistakes apparently). I love seeing a movie with my mom and grandma on Christmas day. I love using my gifts throughout the year and remembering how great it was opening them on Christmas morning.

I'm usually very cynical and jaded and just generally unpleasant, but around Christmas time I love everyone and everything. I cherish the sincerity of myself and others, even if it only lasts for a month.

  1. awww, Stoneeee. Cheers to that!! And to getting sloshed with the fam!

Also, once again, I can't believe this is actually a debate: REAL TREES BABY. I almost disowned my family last year when we had a fake one. Don't worry, things are better now.
