Random Tidbits

I have a few random things on my mind today. First, it's time to talk about LOST again. We are now three days from the impending series finale. I am simultaneously ecstatic and horrified by this fact. I have spent a significant portion of the last six years of my life focusing on the insane/enthralling plotlines of this show. When I think about it ending, I get a strange sense of emptiness that is usually only attainable via a vodka-induced hangover. I'm thrilled that we finally get to understand what the hell is happening on that island, but I'm very sad/disappointed/anxious about the fact that I will never again experience the excitement that comes along with a LOST season premiere. The silver lining? The end of the series can mean only one thing: the release of the over-priced boxed set. I could say that I will wait to buy it until Best Buy puts it on sale, but I'd be lying. It's highly likely that I will buy it the day it is released and then begin a strict regimen of watching one episode per week for the next two years and three weeks. I can't wait!

The other thing on my mind this beautiful morning is Penske trucks. I realize that I once devoted an entire post to my violent dislike of these devil machines, but I feel the need to reiterate. Rock and I recently went on a little trip from Denver to Iowa City (a 12 hour one way car ride, in case you were wondering) and I saw numerous Penske's along the way. Once again, all I have to say about people who choose to rent those things is this: what a bunch of assholes. I am fully aware that my hatred of Penske trucks, and by association, people who drive them is almost entirely based on three isolated incidents along a certain stretch of I-80 in Wyoming, but I just cannot let it go! Twice on the drive to Iowa I spotted Penske's towing honda civics or equally sized vehicles. I have said it before and I'll say it again: people who drive honda civics are not qualified to drive a Penske truck!!! This legitimately infuriates me. They're always driving in every damn lane at the same time, slowing down and speeding up, and they never change lanes to allow for merging traffic. I am 100 percent positive that only people who don't know how to drive in the first place are the people rent Penske trucks. I have no problem when I see a U-Haul towing a tiny car because I have never been nearly driven to death by any U-Hauls. The point here is exactly the same as it was the last time I discussed this: only idiots rent Penske trucks and I loath any Penske truck and it's driver when I see them on the road.

The last thing I wanted to talk about is how much I love the fact that Rock has been signing off with the phrase "Fist pumpin like a champ. Always." Hilarious!!! I crack up every time.
