Reunions that NEED to happen

There's a phenomenon in life that transports us to a certain time and place and fills our heads with all kinds of good memories. What is this magical thing? Well, it's called nostalgia and I happen to have a bit of an unhealthy relationship with it. You see, I'm a little bit addicted to nostalgia. I often find myself poppin' in the Spice World DVD or an NSYNC CD so that I can feel like I'm in the fifth grade all over again. Alright, 'often' may be an exaggeration, but I do this more than I think can be reasonably considered normal. I love the way this ridiculously poppy music makes me feel and when I'm comfortably delirious during an afternoon of playing "Bye Bye Bye" on repeat, I find myself wondering, Why not a reunion? Before you get your panties in a pinch, I remember that the Spice Girls had a little reunion tour last summer, but I don't think I'm the only who wasn't satisfied with that. My addiction to nostalgia has caused a sort of irrational, intense desire for certain groups and shows to give it another go.

The first reunion that I need to see happen is without a doubt NSYNC. For my generation's lives to be fully complete, this boy band needs to make one more album together. And, of course, follow it up with a world tour.......or four. We need Justin Timberlake to come down off of his high horse just for a few months and work this out. Come on Justin! We just want to have that 'This I Promise You' feeling one more time.

The next reunion that needs to happen: Friends. We need to see that inevitable made for TV movie ASAP! It's so obvious what would happen, the fans could practically write the script. Nonetheless, those of us who were true fans of the series want to see the embodiment of our dreams: The One With Ross and Rachel's Wedding.

Next up: Beverly Hills 90210. Let's face it, the only thing the updated version of this show has going for it is the cast of the original show who make regular appearances. Why must we pretend that this severely lacking show is coming anywhere near close to satisfying our desire to see the old crew together again? The writer's and creator should just admit that they made a mistake and then do whatever it takes to get the original cast back for 90210 2.0!

Lastly, I need to see a Gilmore Girls reunion. Suffice it to say that I was more than upset with the absurdity that was the series finale of this show. The word 'finale' itself implies some kind of culminating ending. Story lines are supposed to be wrapped up, not left to drift for all eternity. We need the writers and cast to get back together and make a movie to wrap things up.

Basically, I want nothing more in life than to live in the 90's once again. The fashion was ridiculous, but the music and shows were fun and easy-going. I think there's money to be made in the industry of exploiting nostalgic saps such as myself, the entertainment industry should take note.

You're Welcome,
Stone
